St. Matthew’s National School
Active Schools
At St. Matthew’s we have a committee called the Active Schools Committee, where we try to become a more active school.
Every class had an election to decide on two students to be the classes’ Active School Representatives, except for Sixth Class, which has three representatives, as it was such a close election.
This year, Active Schools plans to make everyone in St. Matthew’s want to exercise and become more active.
Active Schools’ goals for this year include the following:
- Creating the one and only St. Matthew’s football team! This is because so many people in St. Matthew’s love football
- We also hope to have equipment for little break to encourage people to become more active at all breaks
- Adding extra active breaks and extra PE to encourage people to be active, especially for days when it’s raining and we can’t go outside
- Organising an Active Week in June
This only a few of the Active Schools Committee’s ideas, and we hope to make all of them reality by the end of the school year.
