Here is our poem:

Throughout the Years

We never thought this day would come so soon

Like yesterday we were in the Junior Infants classroom

Now that that’s behind us there’s no turning back

We’re on a different road, we’re on a different track

I remember all the laughter throughout the years

But now we’re all crying, shedding tears

St. Matthew’s has taught us lessons for life

Through our happiness and through our strife

We would love to thank everyone but that would take forever

Like mentioning all the good times we had together

The Mary’s helped us up when we fell down

For everything they’ve done they deserve a crown

Mick, Josh and Vic have done so much

Thanking them would never be enough

The SET team and SNAs have helped us more than we could ever know

They helped us learn, read, count and grow.

Lynn and Ms Rousseau were so kind, happy and smiley

And now we’ve welcomed Ms O’Reilly

They are the best we could ever get

None of them will we ever forget

Most of all, we have to thank our staff

For all the ways they made us learn and laugh

Jackie taught us 123

While Ms Levis taught us ABC

Ms Griffin taught us to believe

Ms Dunne taught us to achieve

Ms Clements taught us to be kind

Ms Byrne taught us to speak our mind

Ms McKay taught us that we’re all different

Mr McAndrew taught us that music is magnificent

Last of all, our final teacher Ms Fallows taught us to be confident and strong

And proud of where we belong

We’re going on to brand new schools

Withmany new and different rules

So many new activities to explore

Subjects, hobbies, sports and more

From all the work we’ve done

To everything we’ve won

We’ve all learned so much

And had so much fun

We’ve had each other’s backs

Through every low and high

And even though it’s hard

We now have to say goodbye.
