A Fun First Term in 1st Class!
First Class have had a great first term in school! They have learned a lot of new and exciting things.
We have been busy creating lots of artwork during this term. We really enjoyed learning about the artists Vincent Van Gogh and Marc Chagall. We created our own versions of ‘The Starry Night’ and houses. We have learned a lot about Autumn including the different colours, animals and words associated with it.
We created some beautiful pointillism Autumn trees using paint. Leading up to Halloween and Christmas we decorated the classroom with ghosts with paper plates and Frankenstein’s, snowflakes using paint and Christmas trees using card and paper.
In October, we celebrated Goal’s Jersey Day. Each child got to wear their favourite jersey and donated €2. We enjoyed seeing everyone’s’ favourite jerseys around the school.
At the beginning of November, we had lots of fun during STEM week. We designed our own paper aeroplanes and then tested them outside. We tested them three times to see whose aeroplanes went the furthest. We also got to use the Beebots in the classroom. The children took turns in their pods to test out the Beebots on the different mats. We had a number, shapes and town mats. We had so much fun!
We had a super fun day on Pyjama day. The children got to bring their teddies in and cuddle them while watching the Christmas movie ‘Klaus’. We also got to have ice-cream with some toppings and it was absolutely delicious. We all had a great day!
