We learnt how to say ‘at the…’, ‘on the…’ and ‘under the…’ in Irish! We acted out the phrase and then we took photo’s (‘Under the…’ was our favourite!)
We learnt about data in maths we carried out a school survey of the most popular sports, then we made a tally of the results and we made a bar chart to show our results.
We went on a lovely nature walk along the river Dodder with the gardeners. We had learnt all about the Dodder in Geography so we knew lots of facts about it and what types of plants and animals to look out for! We also collected some samples of fallen leaves and conkers to take back with us…
We LOVE reading in third class, especially novels! This year we split up into three reading groups and we read three different novels instead of one. Reading in groups is great fun and we can learn from each other and help each other out! We also filled in class novel booklets as we went along….
We had a very spooky Halloween in third class this year!
We have been doing a lot of work on paint and colour! Here we are learning about colour mixing by creating colour wheels! We LOVE art in third class!
We learnt about ‘Na hUimhreacha Pearsanta’ i nGaeilge (Counting people in Irish) by taking photo’s of different amounts of people from the class.
Third class took part in a ‘Waste Audit’ to see how many different types of waste we have in our classroom and also how much of each we have. We found that if we recycled or reused our rubbish we would have almost nothing left to go to landfill!!
Today we received our cheque from the money raised by Tesco’s Community Fund! We were presented with a cheque worth 471.70 euro. We are delighted with the money raised and are very grateful to everyone who supported our school. We will ensure the money is spent wisely!
