We are so lucky in Fourth class to have Niamh Bruce coming into our classroom each Thursday afternoon. Niamh comes in to complete the .b paws programme with us.
In this programme, we are learning all about our brain and how it works. Through this .B we are doing practices which help us become more mindful and allow our bodies to just be.
Niamh is helping us understand that our feelings are natural and there are things we can do to help ourselves.
Parts of the brain we have learned so far are the pre-frontal cortex and the hypothalmus. We now know how the hypothalmus got its name. The hypothalmus is shaped like a seahorse which in latin is hippo!
We are looking forward to the next 7 weeks of our mindfulness programme.
