2nd Class carried out a science experiment in groups where they were given dry spaghetti, 4 mini marshmallows, and 2 big marshmallows. The aim of the experiment was to see who could build the tallest and sturdiest tower using only the materials provided. The children quickly realised that if they snapped the spaghetti into smaller lengths they could make a sturdier tower. Before we got stuck in the children made a plan of what their tower would look like, they then compared their actual towers to their plans at the end. The children had lots of fun making these towers- the hardest part was not eating the marshmallows!
